HOME RUN POWER IN SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL STARTS WITH HIP ROTATION
Step 3 – I lift my left leg and swing it around in front of me and back toward the catcher. This is the "coil" part of my hip rotation. My left back pocket is now pointed at the pitcher and the front of my hips are now pointed generally toward the catcher (hips rotated in, and coiled).
In case you are wondering, I still have the softball bat back and generally have not moved it from the initial stance except as my body motions move it. Because it is slow pitch, the softball is about somewhere at the midpoint between the pitcher and home plate near the top of its arc.
