Tip No. 2 Hands

In slow pitch softball hitting, you have to keep you hands loose on the softball bat, don’t grip the bat tight.  You get more bat speed with a relaxed grip. The reason why is that this allows the bat to rotate slightly more in your hands as you swing, whereas if you grip the softball bat too tight it creates a rigid connection between your hands and the bat.

A tight grip on the softball bat does not allow the whipping of the bat in your fingers as you swing.  Try not to worry about the bat flying out of your hands because of loose grip, usually your muscle memory in your fingers takes over gripping at the right moment for maximum whip in the motion to swing.
